Bring sunscreen
“My number one recommendation for ageing gracefully is SPF,” says Aaron Barry, a celebrity hair and makeup artist. Everyone, regardless of gender, colour, or skin type, is accelerated in the ageing process by the sun’s rays. The likelihood of developing skin cancer is also elevated.
“Now you can even prep your skin for cosmetics,” says Barry, referring to the introduction of sun protection factor primers. My go-to pre-makeup sunscreen is the Thrive Causemetics Sunproof 3-in-1 Priming Sunscreen, which has SPF 37. In addition to setting the ideal foundation, it hydrates, controls sebum production, and, most importantly, shields skin from damaging ultraviolet radiation.
Makeup lifts and brightens eyes
As Barry points out, the droopy eyelid look can happen when people try to cover up their eyes with eye shadow. When I want to make my eyes stand out, I go to the outer corner of my eyebrow and work my way upwards and outwards to apply eye shadow. Doing so will gradually lengthen the appearance of your eyes.
Plus, Barry says you should not apply heavy eyeliner. “Look rough and bring attention to lower eyelid drooping” is what he says it can do. To achieve a more defined line across the upper eyelid, he suggests using a pencil to line the inner upper lash line. He claims it “still frames and moulds the eye” despite its lack of prominence.
Daily exercise
Aim for thirty minutes of physical activity every day. In Dr. Pinkerton’s opinion, it may be better spread out throughout the day if that makes it easier to handle. You can try light yoga, a stroll, or even weights or Pilates if you are feeling really upbeat.
