 Apple Cider Vinegar

Many individuals think that taking apple cider vinegar (ACV) or a supplement containing ACV while fasting is okay. But Dia Miller says that apple cider vinegar and bone broth are both calorie-containing. “These calories, however tiny, will eventually break the fast physiologically,” Jones says.

You can still include apple cider vinegar (or apple cider supplement) in your routine if you prefer to consume it outside of your fast. According to Dia Miller, apple cider vinegar is less likely to cause an insulin surge than bone broth, which is beneficial for those trying to cut calories, lengthen the digestion break, and lower insulin levels.

 Bone Broth

After you have broken your fast, sip a warm cup of bone broth if you like. Dia Miller explains that there is protein in bone broth, which is why it is popular among paleo and fasting adherents. “Protein has the potential to increase insulin and blood sugar levels.” Protein may not have the same impact on insulin and blood sugar levels as carbs, but it can still mess with your fast.

Soda

Dia Miller warns that soda, even diet soda, is not a good choice for those who are intermittent fasting. Regardless of whether you are on a diet like intermittent fasting, she says to stay away from soda in general.
